Seeking motivated millennials

May 4, 2018 admin

We’re looking for motivated and passionate students and young professionals to join our ranks.

We’re a community service and professional development club that has been providing life-changing opportunities and experiences to our members (aged 18–30) for 10 years.

Long-term member and past president Emily Wood said members come from all walks of life, and the club’s projects and activities represent their passions and interests.

We’re all driven by a desire to make the world a better place, and have seen the impact of our work both locally and internationally.

“One of my personal favourites has been our sponsorship of a student at the School of St Jude in Tanzania, which is successfully fighting poverty through education.

“I had the pleasure of meeting our sponsor student and his family when I visited Tanzania a few years ago, and was incredibly moved to see first-hand the tangible impact we’ve had on his life.”

In addition to community and international service, we have a strong focus on offering professional development opportunities to our members. Past sessions have included budgeting, time management, communication, CV writing, public speaking and nutrition.

Our next professional development event will provide young professionals with tips on how to make a positive, lasting impression when networking. For details, visit https://www.facebook.com/events/294413207759844/

For post-graduate student Alejandro Nuñez the highlights of being a member have been the opportunities to travel and make friends.

“I joined Rotaract to connect with people who also want to make the world a better place, and it helps me to understand other visions of how to achieve this goal.

Rotaract makes the world bigger and smaller at the same time — bigger in that it opens up opportunities, and smaller in that it is a global organisation that connects people from different countries.

“I started my Rotaract journey in Paraguay, but now have friends across the globe.”
