Professional development workshops
Professional development is a core focus of Rotaract. We are committed to helping our members develop both personally and professionally.
We run regular 'topic talks' at club meetings, with members sharing their knowledge and skills, and also participate in district-wide professional development workshops. Topics covered include: communication, presentation skills, time management, goal setting, risk management and project coordination, as well as nutrition, how to write a will and how to make the most of your tax return.
District Conference
Our club is part of Rotary District 9620 and each year our members attend the district conference to hear from inspiring speakers, learn about the projects of other clubs, and have some fun!
Rotary International Convention
The Rotary International Convention and Rotaract Preconvention Meeting are two events in the Rotary calendar not to be missed. Hosted in a different country each year, the convention is an opportunity to meet Rotarians and Rotaractors from every corner of the globe, hear from truly inspirational keynote speakers, and learn about the positive impact of Rotary projects.
Each convention features world-class keynote speakers and entertainment, as well as engaging and informative workshops about:
- peace and conflict prevention/resolution
- disease prevention and treatment
- water and sanitation
- maternal and child health
- basic education and literacy
- economic and community development.
