The School of St Jude

The School of St Jude, Tanzania

We have proudly sponsored a student and a teacher at the School of St Jude in Tanzania since 2013.

The School of St Jude was opened in 2002 by an Australian woman, Gemma Sisia, with one teacher and three students. It now provides a high-quality, free education to more than 1,900 of Tanzania’s poorest and brightest students.

Christmas decorations for Youngcare

In December 2015, we spent time with the residents at Youngcare, Jindalee, hanging decorations to add some extra Christmas cheer to the holiday season.

More than 7,000 young Australians currently live in aged care because there is nowhere else equipped to provide the support they need. Youngcare is dedicated to getting young people out of aged care, and providing accommodation solutions and care that is appropriate to their needs.

Milpera artwork

HEAL Program at Milpera State High School

Our club raises funds for the HEAL (Home of Expressive Arts in Learning) program at Milpera State High School through the sale of greeting cards that feature artwork from refugee students.

Milpera is an intensive English language reception centre and settlement service for newly arrived immigrant and refugee students preparing them for the transition to mainstream schooling.

HEAL is a school-based mental health program that uses the creative arts to enhance the wellbeing and improve the learning outcomes of recently arrived refugee students, many of whom have faced significant challenges in their journeys to safety in Australia.

Sherwood Community Festival

Sherwood Community Festival

Each year we get involved with the Sherwood Community Festival, hosting a games stall and cleaning up afterwards. It's a great way for us to build our profile, get to know members of the community and raise funds for our many projects.
